Projects> Keezer Kiosk

This page is the sole reason for this website. I have kept it pretty much the same, but does have anchor links for quicker reference. The hardware references have images and the reference links provided are easily referenced. Open your web-browser and visit: https://github.com/willseeds. Click on the Repositories link.

My github.com repository for this project has two buckets. Let me explain:
Keezerkiosk - The original .php application files and full explanation for a bare-install of the Keezer Kiosk on a Raspberry Pi 3b. It's a long read and will change over time with the releases of Debian and the applications used to deploy the project.

Keezerkiosk-img - After a week or so, I squeezed the image to fit on an 8GB SD card. This is a plug-and-play install. It does require downloading the 8GB image file and using free software to put it on an SD card for inserting into a Raspberry Pi.

If you do not know what a "keezer" (or kegerator) is or how to build one, search for some images in your favorite search engine to see pics. There are many different types and layouts, so I don't want to explain too much. Basically its a chest-freezer with the door taken off, a wood 2x4 or 2x6 rim added and the door reattached. The tap handles are drilled into the wood and the quantity is only limited by your freezer size. These are really popular for home-brewers, but can also serve up to 5 gallons of carbonated water or home-made soda.

The Keezer Kiosk is a web-application, ran by a SQL server, to keep track of all the products served on the keezer and the taps they are served on. You can show the taps closed by no information and allows for easy updating of the on-tap items. Through the simplicity of the design, I was able to add a light-version with less info for TVs and the ability to read a temp sensor (in F or C) and print it on the page. I am working on a commercial version and better use of the .css styles.

This project was designed for my own three taps in my fridge, but I didn't want to mount the touch-screen on the fridge-door or have it in the fridge. The "Install_README" files for each distribution will give you the full enchilada.

Here's a picture of the Normal Version (in white) and the Skinny Version for those with a smaller screen.
