I am in no way a software developer, but really have an interest in creating something that is useful to others or myself. Way back in college days, I took some Visual Basic classes and learned a little JavaScript along the way. My love for software always seems to have database functionality and internet related. My first love was Microsoft Access backend with a Visual Basic front end for the users. This was before the days of personal SQL Server software, which I have grown to love even more and stopped using MS products all together.
The use of a Raspberry Pi micro-computer will allow ease of managing your own personal webserver. This can be set up to serve webpages to the external internet or develop for migrating to another (paid-for) service. If you are starting out and wanting to know about website and software creation, get a Raspberry Pi and learn from the largest community-driven knowledge base quickly. The best website creations I have accomplished were mainly due to new programming techniques I picked up along the way.
With that being said, this section contains links to others that have helped me in the past with things I was learning and their information has quickly allowed me to build other things with the information.
- PHP / MySQL
- Website design using Gatsby and Github
As I learn other things software related, I will post links to other information.
